Salvatore (Sal) S. Sbranti
Vice President - Operations

Sal Sbranti, a native of Pittsburg, California, is a graduate of California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering, 1971.

Sbranti began his career with U.S. Steel Pittsburg Works as a Management Trainee during the summer of 1970 and worked in various maintenance positions, such as Assistant General Foreman of the newly modernized Rod Mill until 1977. In 1977 he was promoted to General Foreman - Picklers and then in 1980 to General Foreman - Cold Reduction Mills. He continued with promotions in operating areas both in the Sheet Finishing and the Tin Finishing Departments before returning to Cold Reduction as the Department Manager of Mills and Picklers. In 1987, Sal was assigned to the PLTCM modernization team and was later given the first Division Manager's job of Rolling Division Manager in 1989.

Sbranti was named Vice President - Operations. In 1993 Sbranti also assumed the duties of Vice President - Environmental, Safety and Engineering.

Sbranti is a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute’s Committee on Manufacturing and Technology. He and his wife, Gale, have one daughter.
